      Or KA 252 2220/0010+1 (3h 20m) – Tue, Thu, Sat

On arrival at Yangon International Airport, meet your guide and driver and transfer to your hotel in Yangon. Rest and your adventure starts in the morning.

After breakfast, we start our tour at Shwedagon Pagoda. What’s behind the golden façade of the Shwedagon Pagoda? This morning we take you through the back door and show you the full history of the pagoda, the daily life of all people living in the immediate surroundings of the pagoda and a deeper insight in the Buddhist religion and how the spiritual belief is mixed with the belief in nats – the Myanmar spirits. The tour includes a traditional Burmese breakfast, offerings to monks and the pagoda and a visit to a fortune teller.

This afternoon, we spend the rest of our day in Yangon downtown, unique with much of its colonial-era architecture still standing and the central railway station. You find one of Asia’s most impressive collections of late nineteenth and early twentieth- century buildings, religious and secular. This walking tour will take you through downtown Yangon, focusing on its old colonial buildings. Walk through the back streets in a relaxed tempo and explain you the history of each building. This walk along the streets of Yangon will at least architecturally take you a step back in time.

Before sunset we will be back to the illuminated Shwedagon pagoda – a magic and mystical moment at a time it’s not very busy on the main platform. We go straight to platform at the Shwedagon Pagoda where 1000 oil lamps are prepared for you to lit up – a beautiful sight in the evening.

  • Day 02 - Yangon / Bagan

What’s happening in the streets of Yangon when most other people are still sleeping or taking their shower? Our tour starts early in the morning, with a visit to the fish market on the Yangon River when it’s already busy. We continue to a vegetable market which is open 24 hours a day and go to try the famous Burmese breakfast called Mohinga (a mild fish soup with noodles and crackers). By that time the monks are walking through the streets of Yangon to collect their alms and you will wait for them to pass and donate some food to them. Continue to the fruit and vegetable market before heading back to your hotel to have your full western breakfast.

Check out and visit local monastic education. After lunch, transfer to airport and fly to Bagan.

     Fly Yangon / Bagan K7 206 1530/1650 (1h 20m)
This later afternoon, we take a boat ride on the mighty Ayeyarwaddy River and have some sundowners on a sandbank in the middle of the river (if the river is not too high). A private boat tour on the river during sunset time will hopefully show you a spectacular sunset while you will be served cocktails and some snacks.

    Accommodation: Bagan
    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
  • Day 03 - Bagan

A full day tour in Bagan, will show you the best known temples of the area. We start the day climbing a pagoda to get a first impressive view over the whole area. From here we visit some of the other amazing temples that have been here for hundreds of years. Places like the Ananda, Dhammayangyi, Sulamani, and Thatbyinnyu will certainly impress you. Bobby will guide you through on how to capture monks and locals with all these temples.

After lunch we visit a local village and whenever you see a temple you like, just ask you guide to stop to have a look at it – simply pick your own favourite temple. This later afternoon we continue the tour by horse cart to Pyathagyi pagoda for sunset.

    Accommodation: Bagan
    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

  • Day 04 - Bagan / Yangon

This morning, you may want to capture more pictures with the alms giving to the monks.

Start the day early with 4x4 driving out of Bagan meeting local women carrying fire wood and the market while the sun rises behind them. Nyaung Gyi is the first village visit and we stop to see a black smith work shop. In Se Ywa village we visit several local workshops (Plum purifying, cooking oil producing and wooden slipper maker). Then we continue to Taung Kong village where majority of the people are farmers but also making pottery. A great trip for photographers and anyone interested in daily life of local people.

After lunch we visit more local small factories like lacquer wares, and food products like tamarind paste or candies are made. Also visit to some local monasteries before heading to the airport.
